Summary
Eddie felt in his own skin for the first time in a while with this robe on, he felt sexy and confident. He took one look at himself in the mirror before deciding tonight is the night the mustache gets removed.
However he doesn’t want to remove the mustache himself, he wants someone else to shave it for him and he kind of has an excuse to warrant this request as he hurt himself at work so he has a sprained wrist. It was either punching Gerrard square in the face and getting fired or overexerting himself during his trip to the gym to where he sprained his wrist.
So with trembling fingers he texts Buck.

Summary
Buck watched Eddie from the corner of the bustling bar, his gaze glued to the way the firefighter moved.
Eddie was a sight to behold, his dark eyes sparkling with a mischievous glint as he navigated the dance floor with a grace that belied his rugged exterior.
The beat of the Latin music pulsed through the air, and Eddie seemed to dance with it, his body swaying to the rhythm in a way that was both effortless and captivating.
Buck had never seen Eddie dance before. He'd always associated the man with firefighting, with adrenaline and danger. But now, here he was, a vision of sensuality and passion, moving to the rhythm like a seasoned dancer.
Buck's heart raced as he watched Eddie, a strange mix of admiration and longing filling his chest.

Summary
“Need one practice kiss for good luck?” Buck asked softly, a twinkle sparkling in his eyes.
Eddie gaped at him, feigning horror to disguise the actual panic settling behind his ribcage. “Was my kiss last time not satisfactory enough?”
“Well,” Buck said with a wince, “your date that night flopped, so obviously not.”
“I didn’t even kiss her, Buck!” Eddie protested.
“Not my problem.”
“You’re so annoying.” Eddie inched closer, his hands coming up to seize the front of Buck’s shirt. “C’mere.”

Summary
“We don’t have drinks. I should get some,” Eddie offered as an excuse.
“No, you stay, I’ll get it.”
Before Eddie could insist, he was silenced by the view of Buck standing up from the water, swim trunks dripping wet and plastered to his large, muscular thighs. Every curve of his body was accentuated in that moment. It was like a slow motion Baywatch scene and Eddie was no better than a horny teenager.Buck's housewarming party ends in the hot tub, where one thing leads to another, and Eddie finds himself feeling very attracted to his best friend.

Summary
“Eddie,” Maddie says. “I know our kids are different ages, and our situations are different, but — it kind of sounds like you need something else besides your kid and work, too.”
Well, I used to have a best friend, Eddie thinks, then pushes the thought away. “I … I have other things. But Chris and the job are definitely the most central right now.”
"You know, you can’t put yourself last all the time, Eddie.” She laughs a little. “Straight from my therapist’s mouth to your ears! Ooh — you know what? I’ve got a great idea.”
“Oh?”
“You should come to book club. It’s something I do with my parent friends. We take turns hosting, and it’s my turn!”
Sometimes the best part about reading is getting to learn more about yourself.

Summary
Buck’s jaw clenches. “This isn’t you.”
Eddie’s smile turns mean, borderline unrecognizable even to himself. Buck is right, this isn’t him. It doesn’t even sound like his voice. But he’s exhausted. He’s hurt. And he’s done pretending there’s a way out of this that doesn’t involve blood in the water—they’re too far gone for that.
This wasn’t the plan, but he doesn’t pull back from the fight. He doubles down, clinging to the belief that devastation is better than emptiness, that being hated is better than being erased.
“Funny,” Eddie says softly. “Is that what you tell yourself when you fuck anyone who’ll have you? That it doesn’t mean anything? That it’s easier than admitting you’re trying not to think about me?”
Or,
Eddie figures his shit out. Eventually.
An Eddie Diaz character study, if you will.Series

Summary
He should be glad of it. He doesn’t want people to know he’s struggling, and they don’t. But why doesn’t Buck know? He’s always known, always seen through Eddie’s carefully constructed walls and carved himself a door into them. Even when Eddie resisted, even when he pushed back, Buck ducked his head and shoved through and found the tender hurt Eddie was guarding, cupped his hands around it and held until it didn’t ache so much.
And now Eddie’s bleeding internally, swollen with regret, and Buck doesn’t say a thing. Eddie can’t ask him to. If he opens his mouth, he might just start screaming.
~
There's distance between Eddie and Buck. Eddie isn't falling apart. These are two equally true statements.
