Of course Misty always wanted something. To be human was to want. Didn’t everyone else spend their entire lives longing, hungering for that which they could not have? What she wanted now, though, was not possible. She wanted Nat back. She wanted to wipe her slate clean of blood. She wanted Lottie to stop looking at her like it was all her fault.
The words that came out of her mouth were simple. “I wanted to see you.”

Once Lottie is sure Nat’s hands are restrained securely, she moves back to straddle her waist and smiles down at her, sweetly asking, “Are you still willing to try the wax?”
Nat nods eagerly, her eyes dark and filled with desire as she rasps, “Fuck yeah, Lot.”
A grin breaks out on Lottie’s lips, and she leans down to capture Nat’s lips in a tender kiss before reaching for the blindfold positioned on the bed beside Natalie’s hip. She traces her thumb over the silk fabric as she watches Nat lift her head off of the pillow so Lottie can put the blindfold over her eyes. Lottie wordlessly wraps the strip of fabric around her head, brushing Nat’s hair down so it doesn’t get caught as she ties it behind her.
