He blinked; the lighting was slightly different; it was more yellow than it had been before. The walls also had different posters — beer brands, Selena Gomez in a bikini — all unmistakable from his early LA years.
And there in front of him standing in the doorway of the primary bedroom… was him. He was younger and slightly skinnier, wearing cargo shorts and a graphic tee he had gotten in Peru holding a half-eaten burrito.
Blinking, the younger version of Buck wore an expression of utter confusion. “You look Kinda like me but bigger.”

Summary
Eddie looks back and forth between Buck and the girl, staring skeptically at one another— like they’re looking in a funhouse mirror.
The girl opens her mouth to say something but shuts it, eyes widening. She gulps.
Oh god.
Oh god, Eddie thinks, as he watches Buck and this teenager form their differing features into the same expression.
“Uh, hi. Are you Evan Buckley?” she asks finally. She seems to know the answer, but Buck nods slowly. “Well, my name is Quinn Buckley.”
Any remaining sound in the room is sucked out, and they’re left in a vacuum. Everyone is frozen.
“I’m your daughter.”
Buck, Eddie, and Chris have almost found their status quo, when the arrival of a surprise daughter shakes things up.

The second Chris saw the beat-up leather journal with “Property of Eddie Diaz” emblazoned on the front in a somewhat childish version of his dad’s familiar scrawl, he knew that he should put it back beneath the loose floorboard where it had stayed hidden away for probably a decade and a half. No doubt placed there as a way of keeping it hidden from the prying hands of two nosy younger sisters and parents that Chris was increasingly learning could be unbearably overbearing.
But he didn’t want to.

“Okay? And what trouble did I get into 6 years ago?” Buck tilts his head to get a better look at the envelope.
“I’m afraid your disclosure paperwork was never filed with the LAFD. It’s all filled out, minus the signatures, and it found its way to the bottom of the bottom drawer."
"Disclosure with who?"

This is the story of finding home in each other—messy, heartfelt, and real. Chapters will be released semi regularly. I have about 40 left unposted yet but I am still working on finishing up the storylines in them. As I complete them the chapters will be released.
Also: Fear not, Bobby is and will remain to be ALIVE AND WELL in this fic. Unlike Tim Minear, I know what a tragedy and horrible mistake it would be to write him out entirely.
