Shauna has a lot of people interested in dating her ( much to Jackie's dismay), but luckily for Jackie, she's oblivious to most of the attention. It does help that Jackie's presence is an effective tool, warding off any approaching people . Jackie wasn't a particularly mean person, at least not intentionally. It was not her fault that people still found her intimidating.
Of course, the death stares she could give may be a little scary, but if they were scared to approach the two of them, they didn’t deserve Shauna.
Jackie knows that this behaviour is not exactly normal; she just can't stand the thought of Shauna dating anyone. Just the thought of someone else making her best friend laugh or, God forbid, kissing her. It fills her chest with an abnormal amount of jealousy and rage.Or
