I needed this one. I mean it. It is a need.
The characterization is so well done, so well done. Just phenomenal. And so is the reluctance to start something, forgive, and trust. Oft fics have a lot of forgiveness, and there is forgiveness here, but it is so reluctant and not an equally shared mindset. And it just feels so true, I don't know, it feels so real.
And that’s not to say it's an overly serious fic. It is. The internalized homophobia and figuring out yourself out is so … pls don't ask me to explain it, I won't do it justice. It is there and real, but so often in this fic was I smiling met with cute moments and humour, and I am just so immensely glad I could read this.
