Matt has always been everything Foggy is not. At least, that’s what Foggy would say if you asked him. He’s fit and charismatic and somehow rebellious in an endearing way that Foggy was never able to pull off.
Somehow though, somehow, he was Foggy’s roommate. And his friend. And he didn’t act like he was leaving anytime soon. And what if Foggy wanted a bit more? Nobody had to know, least of all Matt. Despite that, Foggy can’t shake the feeling that all of his cards are already on the table. He’s always been an open book.

Foggy guffaws as he throws himself back on his small twin-size bed. (He thought briefly about stealing a bed from some poor sod without a roommate, to combine with his, but the effort would be enormous).
“I hate you so much.”
This time Matt laughs, or at least Foggy is pretty sure he can hear a smile in his voice. The guy isn’t super emotive. “No, you don’t. Come over here so you won’t fall asleep. I’ll quiz you again.”
“This is torture, Matt,” Foggy says, even as he gets up and drags himself over to Matt’s bed.

Summary

Summary
Then the stage lurches, or rather, the audience does. The sound of metal on metal resumes, but this time it is so much worse. In the background, the dissonant noise of a jingle long-forgotten plays.
It’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, and the future is you every day.
The entire theater probably runs on a timer, but over time its efficacy has diminished. The music is warbled, mixing with the grinding noise of the stage and the bitter sound of animatronics resetting.
Montrose settles back to watch.

Tentatively he approaches. “Do you want to talk about it?”
Foggy only shakes his head. “Just the usual,” and then he laughs, but there’s no humor in it.
"Apparently, thinking your best friend died horrifically can give you trauma, what’s up with that?”

Summary
Drowning isn't something you forget. It sticks to you, like wet clothes, like unwanted prayers.
_Her hair is long, thick, and salt wavy. Amber is nineteen, and already her arms are strong and her hands calloused. The sea is all around her and there is no up and no down. Her lungs burn. A moment passes, maybe two, then a hand on her shoulder. A bright light shines through the darkness and someone is screaming. Devo is screaming, she realizes, a sickening sound and visual this far underwater. Devo, who shouldn’t be here, who shouldn’t even be alive yet.
_Devo isn’t sure who his prayers reach. For all the church teaches, “God” is still something as mythical as oak trees and bright sunshine. He exists, he’s sure of it, but he isn’t sure how or when or why or… or anything. He does know that he’s done something terribly wrong though. Something blasphemous, something sinful, but he doesn’t know what.
God doesn’t answer.

Summary
It’s really easy to hold onto anger. Trust him, Devo knows anger well. It’s a tangible feeling, something he can grab and feel. It can be consuming, in some ways relieving, but it can also be biased. Something Devo has not learned is that anger is a secondary emotion, it springs from another feeling, until the original incentive is long forgotten. And while this can do something to assuage the original pain, it does not help you overcome it.

Then he spreads his hand as far as he can, straining the bones against skin until it hurts. It’s not enough, it’s not what it was like earlier. Channeling that much power into a bomb, making yourself into a living circuit board? Probably not his best idea, but he was desperate, and he was scared. It was the way he stretched, the way he changed, that just thinking about makes him angry. Makes him frustrated, panicked, it makes him feel - well, it makes him feel awfully young.

Dean looks up from his book and into the door frame of his room. “What’s up, Cas?”
“How do you shave?”
_Dean brought out a can of shaving cream and deposited some into his palm. He hovered a brief second before Cas’ jaw, and though as if steeling himself for something, began rubbing the cream into circles. Cas leaned his head upward, not unlike a moth to light, thought Dean, into his touch.
“You don’t need a lot of this stuff,” Dean began. “Just enough to not cut yourself.”
Cas nodded.
Dean took the razor, still resting on the towel where he left it, and slid it down the edge of Cas’ jaw.

Summary
Dean thinks at once about the small moments he has occasionally with Cas. He thinks about the cheap pie they buy after finishing a case to celebrate. He thinks about the mixtape he gave Cas, the feeling of handing it over and of their fingers brushing. He thinks about the way Cas squints his eyes when he’s confused and the way he rolls them when he’s trying to seem annoyed.
He remembers suddenly now Cas’ words:
“Happiness isn't in the having. It's in just being. It's in just saying it.”

Maybe he would clear away Jim’s belongings, or maybe he would meditate throughout several nights. Jim fixes his blue eyes on Spock, pleads a dying man’s wish.
“I’m scared Spock… help me not be. How do you do it?”
__As all things seem to happen, Spock finds himself in Observatory 2b. He is off duty and has been at the Doctor’s request for the past 13.67 days. He does not know what to do with himself. He does not know what to do without Jim, without his wit and his smile. He has reached and yet did not take hold, if he did maybe this would not have happened.
His hands tightened. The Doctor said Jim would be waking in the next couple days.

“Fine is an objective term with varying meanings. Would you“ - he pauses, unsure of how to phrase it, worried that he may be overstepping - “...like to discuss it?”
Jim knows that Spock is giving him an out, and that Spock would never force him to say anything outside of his comfort. The observatory is dark though and Jim has always had a hard time disappointing Spock. Mulling it over, he watches as Spock removes himself from the far corner of the room by the entrance. So Jim moves over, gestures for Spock to sit with him, and places his hand and head at his knee once more.

That’s how it happened. Now Dean had been coming to the hippie coffee shop called Angel’s Coffee for the past month or two. But oh, not for the coffee or the crap music. He came for the barista whose name tag Dean couldn’t quite pronounce; he preferred to call him Mr. Paint. As odd as that sounds the dude did always have dried paint on his hands. Dean didn’t know what he was always painting, but, it was always a different abstract color.
