Cahara leans back in his chair, watching Enki pace back and forth across the room. He’s been at it for a good ten minutes, at least. “Sorry?” he offers.
Enki whips around, pointing a long crooked finger in his direction. “Don’t,” he warns. “Don’t speak.”
Cahara flashes him a winning smile. “I thought the entire point of this meeting was for me to speak.”
“That was before I knew it was you,” he stresses.

Cahara brings the girl to the dark altar. She becomes the God of Fear and Hunger. She brings Cahara to the tenth level.
He doesn’t die immediately.

Qifrey breathes in. Breathes out. Finally he says, eye still on the paper, “It’s a valiant attempt but you might want to focus more on external stimulation. At least for a first contraption, it’ll be a safer bet.”
Olruggio wasn’t entirely ignorant. He knew what he was referring to, if only from diagrams in the health textbooks he read when he found himself raising three - now four - girls.
“I figured, uh, internal stimulation would be the main attraction,” he admits.
Olruggio wants to punch the smirk starting to pull at the corners of Qifrey’s mouth.

"Sorry for trespassin'," he says, illogically. "Just thought this might be a fine place to die. Figured I'd make a nice snack for you, at least." His voice slurs a little as he speaks. It's a pleasant voice, Qifrey thinks idly. Nice and raspy, almost like a beginning of a growl. The man is still watching him through a glaze. "Gods, but you're beautiful," he says, absurdly.
Qifrey freezes in his descent. Watches the way the human wrinkles his nose as he seems to process his own words, then closes his eyes.
"Why'd I say that," he asks.
OR
What's a dragon to do, when a dying man stumbles into his den and collapses against his hoard? Follow him home, marry him, and adopt a family, of course. Now, that's probably not right, but there's few willing or capable of correcting a dragon in something they've decided to do.
