    Alone in the saber tombs with a qi deviating Nie Mingjue, Nie Huaisang expects to be killed when his rendition of Clarity suddenly seems to agitate rather than soothe… which his brother will doubtless consider more than enough cause to chain himself down in Suoxian Pavilion the moment he returns to lucidity. Nie Mingjue cutting Huaisang's clothes off instead is deeply unexpected, but will hopefully be the saving of them both— so long as Huaisang can keep Nie Mingjue from injuring him accidentally, he'll be able to honestly tell him that he hasn't been hurt; after all, it's not like Huaisang hasn't been secretly harboring impossible feelings for years. Of course, in Huaisang's dreams, Nie Mingjue obviously knows that it's Huaisang he's touching. Nie Mingjue isn't losing his mind. Nie Mingjue isn't dying.

    (Or, Lanling Jin should have remembered what happened the last time someone decided to murder a Nie Sect Leader:
