“Fifty million Mora!” a man calls out, his voice echoing in the massive auditorium.
“Fifty million!” the auctioneer crows, and Kunikuzushi looks up, pleased and surprised. He scans the audience for whoever doubled his price. But the spotlights are too bright, so he only pulls down on his eyelid and sticks his tongue out in the direction of the voice, to the amusement of the crowd.
“Fifty million Mora, going once, going twice—and sold to the gentleman in the red mask!” cries the auctioneer. “We hope you enjoy breaking him in, Number Eleven!”
