That's what you were, a spoil of war. You had been in the middle of making dinner when you heard the warning telesponder sirens. In a matter of seconds of the sirens, your village was on fire. Pirate raids weren't new, but these pirates worked fast. You abandoned everything to seek out your shelter.
You made it to the cellar behind your home before he found you; the source of the fire, you'd later come to find out. Before you could scream, he moved in and knocked you out.
