Dazai comes from a land that no one has information on, the Port Kingdom. It's when he's sent to the Agency's Kingdom to contribute to the Prince's ceremony for his twentieth birthday that he meets Kunikida. Dazai's only rule is to not mess up for the sake of both Kingdoms and for him and Kunikida's relationship.

Fukuzawa is searching for a new painter to aid him in the official ceremony of Prince Kunikida Doppo and to paint his portrait to hang along his fellow generations of royalty painted in their youth,’ is what we hear.
