It’s the first time in a while that he doesn’t know what comes next. He’s dove into the water hundreds of times. Screamed as his flesh was torn apart, heard Master of Puppets in the distance and held back tears. Felt Max’s cold, small hand in his as she laid in the hospital bed. There are things that always happen, no matter how hard he tries: El doesn’t arrive in time. Eddie dies. Max is put in a coma.
Steve fails. They lose.
“Steve, how many loops have you been through?”
His head is nodding, and his eyes are watery, and Eddie has approached him like a spooked animal.
“I lost count.”
AKA: The one where Steve Harrington is stuck in a time loop, and Eddie Munson is really fucking hard to save, or: fuck Volume 2, these bitches are in love.

Summary
On October 19, 2025, around 9:30 a.m., a gang of thieves dressed as construction workers – wearing orange and yellow vests – broke into the Louvre building, stealing priceless jewels. The culprits were apprehended shortly afterward, arrested by the French police.
The heist had a colossal impact on the global masses – it is, in fact, referred to by many as the “Heist of the Century.”
The crime seemed to have been resolved, if not for the fact that no one could have ever imagined that two of the most notorious rebel groups from two parallel universes had actually conspired together to carry out the misdeed.
After all, they had always solemnly sworn that they were up to no good. No mourners, no funerals.

Esther stieß ein abfälliges Schnauben aus. “Was sollen wir schon tun? Die zwei sind erwachsen.”
“Ja, schon klar”, sagte Leo. “Aber wenn dein Verdacht zutrifft … was dann?”
Esther starrte noch eine Weile gedankenverloren an die Decke. Schließlich richtete sie sich mit einem geschlagenen Seufzen wieder auf und sah Leo ins Gesicht.
“Dann bleibt uns nichts anderes übrig, als es zu akzeptieren.”
Leo hob eine Augenbraue. “Und das kannst du so einfach?”
Esther gab ihm ein gequältes Lächeln. “Nein.” Sie neigte den Kopf. “Du?”
Leo schüttelte den Kopf.
Esther stieß ein leises Lachen aus. “Wir sind echt zwei traurige Gestalten.”
Er nickte. “Kannst du laut sagen.”

Esther und Leo denken ihre beiden Kollegen haben etwas am Laufen. Leo ist eifersüchtig auf Pia. Pia ist eifersüchtig auf die französische Kollegin von Esther. Esther ist eifersüchtig auf Adam und Adam hat eine lange Leitung.
