Summary
… It wasn’t as if he’d forgotten that Naruto was an omega. It was a fact of life— like fire burning hot and the sun setting in the west. It had never mattered the same way none of their classmates secondary genders had ever mattered. Before Sasuke had left, they’d all been too young to have to deal with the grimmer aspects of puberty— heats and ruts and the messiness of pheromones.

Summary
“No, listen,” He presses on, the leftover bit of chain tangling in the grass with each slow step, “Ever since my parents… I’ve had trouble letting people in– even if I want to. It’s like there’s this gate, locked and guarded, and I can’t unlock it no matter how hard I try.”
Sasuke feels Naruto’s gaze like a brand, “Well,” He kicks away a pebble, playing with his fingers, “I know how to pick locks.”
Just like that, the tension cracks. It still exists, some unseen oppressive wall, but it lessens just enough for Sasuke to laugh, an honest, belly laugh, and say, “You can try.”
Or; Sasuke and Naruto escape a kidnapping. Lost in the desert, Sasuke finds more than just his way home.

Summary
Sasuke’s out on a mission, assigned to him by the Hokage, for the Hokage, so the Hokage himself doesn't have to do the job.
So why in the world is said Hokage sitting in a dingy bar, disguised as a woman, and seemingly waiting for Sasuke to show up two months into the mission?
"Sasuke had traversed many lands over the course of his short, sweet life. But, for some reason unbeknownst to him, the bends in his path always seemed to lead back to the loud, obnoxious man currently tucked beneath his chin."
