Summary
Caleb is 63 when he starts to forget. As hairline cracks form in his mind he realizes that perhaps the scars have taken their toll, and he has less time left than he expected. Essek feels him drifting away, but they know they must both face the fact that all things end. By the time it does, Caleb does not remember his own name.
Seventeen years later, a curious soul wakes up from a dream that they were once a wizard. As the shattered pieces of Caleb Widogast come back together once more he decides to seek out his past and find his favorite Dynasty heretic, all while recovering the things which made him who he was in his past life—his friends.
A story of how a keen mind breaks apart, and how it comes back together. A story of things lost—and found.

Summary
After a series of tragic but very entertaining deaths claim nine souls across Exandria, a fresh set of faces are welcomed to The Good Plane. They are greeted by an enigmatic but clearly well-meaning figure who calls himself The Traveler, and are promised that they’re about to begin the ideal afterlife.
Caleb Widogast is one of the newly deceased and he’s absolutely certain that there has been a grievous error. There’s no way he deserves any of this — not the ideal wizard’s tower with a magic library, not the endless supply of paper, and not his brilliant, startlingly hot soulmate Essek Thelyss, who has clearly actually done everything right and has absolutely nothing on his conscience.

"It’s a beautiful day at the Soltryce Academy—the sky is vibrant and the trees rustle with the gentlest of winds as Caleb begins his impromptu Transmutation lecture outside. From the building on the edge of the grounds he hears a muffled bell tolling for fifth period. Somewhere in the distance, a student begins to whistle.
At that moment, Caleb feels at peace.
At that moment, a Purple Worm bursts forth from the soil directly in front of him, and all of his plans for a pleasant afternoon are promptly dashed."

Caleb and Essek have finally settled down - more or less. While the beloved and somewhat eccentric Professor Widogast is busy inciting small student-scale riots and teaching tiny wizards morals, Essek spends his days lounging around the house, drinking wine and experimenting with the exotic concept of 'cooking his own meals'. They are pretty sure life is great - until two pre-teen assassins crash-land into the middle of the Soltryce Academy and demand the former Shadowhand be surrendered to their custody. What are the two internationally in/famous mages to do? The answer will shock absolutely no one. -

The Shadowhand has taken a liking to a human.
That’s what the gossip at Vurmas Outpost says, anyway. Entertainment is hard to find when opening a window is a safety hazard and ‘seeing some fresh faces’ is only possible in the context of unearthing yet another adventuring party that has recently perished while trying to brave the Eiselcross wilds without a guide. Endless white mountainscapes dull the mind, fray it thin, and turn it to the only possible alternative source of discovery inside bleak walls—interpersonal drama.
Caleb Widogast has a charm about him, some would agree. What is most curious, however, is the fact that this charm seems to work on Essek of Den Thelyss. This is nigh on incomprehensible, even when the evidence is right there before their very eyes. -

Summary
After their climb up an anti-magic tower and their endless teasing, the wizards decide to take a long rest in the stairwell. Essek endeavours to make this a peaceful night. The issue is that he is in Aeor, trying to trance on a staircase, with Caleb peacefully snoring right by his knee, and he is as hard as his Graviturgy final assignment in year 12 with no relief in sight. Before the night is up, he may or may not succumb to some questionable urges - and a certain companion might be more than amiable where aid is concerned.
