Alex’s eyes widened. “Oh god, no, no, not at all. I’m so sorry, everything’s fine, this is so fucking stupid—”
Henry took a deep breath. He placed the coffee mug on the desk and strode across the room. He was slightly interrupted by David’s yelp, but after nudging the dog to the side, he pulled Alex into a tight hug. Alex clung to him like a lifeline.
“It’s not stupid,” Henry murmured into Alex’s shoulder. “I promise it’s not.”
Alex shook in his arms.
