As of today, Tyler Galpin has been a resident of Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital for two full weeks. And all that I’ve gotten out of him for those two full weeks is Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday! It’s as if the sound of the word itself tortures him.
I would almost...well, it’s a bit ridiculous, but I’d almost believe it was a name, with how painfully the sound tears out of his throat.
But that would be ludicrous. Who would name their child Wednesday?
or, an explanation of what Dr. Fairburn meant when she said "Tyler has spoken of you often."

Wednesday moves into an apartment for the quiet and immediately discovers the wall is thin enough to carry everything from next door.

Tyler, apparently, has not changed his habits.
She tries to ignore it. Then she tries to work through it. Then she stops sleeping. By the fifth night, she’s at his door with a noise complaint that has very little to do with noise.

Wednesday almost allowed herself a flicker of dark amusement. As much as she had tried to disown him over the years, Pugsley was definitely her brother. Only an Addams would find the age gap the most disturbing part about kissing a zombie. Not the fact that Isaac had been lying decomposing for thirty years and feasting on brains.

Summary
Slurp started the zombie apocalypse.
Now, years later, Wednesday moved like a silent punctuation mark across the carcass of the world. Black boots. Black braids. Black blade. She had traded her cello for a machete, though she still hummed Vivaldi when decapitating zombies. Human colonies were the only imitation of civilization left, but they were built on fear, ruled by whomever held the most guns and the least conscience. Survivors were chaotic, loud, sentimental, and possessed an alarming talent for stepping directly into a creature’s open mouth. Zombies were, at least, predictable and reliable.
But Tyler Galpin—then and now—belonged to a category all his own.
More monster than man.
And more slave than anything else, even after all these years.
