Summary
When T'Lyn unexpectedly enters Pon Farr a month earlier than anticipated, she finds herself in immediate need of a partner for some private time. Wanting to avoid any unnecessary awkwardness between her friend and other members of the crew, Beckett Mariner graciously volunteers her new boyfriend, Bradward Boimler, for the task. The aspiring captain, however, is obviously reluctant as he's in a committed relationship. It falls to Mariner to make this happen, and perhaps benefit herself in a way or two.

Summary
In the aftermath of an awkward situation Mariner put both herself and Boimler into for a dare while on shore leave, the two are paired together on a supply run to a new Starfleet science outpost. Things soon turn sideways on the return trip, and the junior lieutenants subsequently find themselves caught between battle lines in a conflict on an unfamiliar world that most definitely wasn’t in the mission briefing.
The conflict has its roots in another that Mariner remembers all too well, and consequently she is forced to confront her demons with Boimler at her side. In so doing her closest companion will come to understand a great deal more about the dynamics of their relationship and her as well.
The past has a way of catching up with the present.
