“Hey, Flayn! I’m just getting some light reading in. This place is the perfect place for it, you know? With the tree providing shade and all.”
He nodded at the leaves and branches above him. Flayn followed his gaze upwards, allowing Claude to hide the pitiful flower underneath his cape. He didn’t act fast enough, however, since Flayn’s eyes shifted to the lily before it was completely tucked away. She then glanced at the tome in Claude’s lap, with its archaic handwriting and diagrams displayed for all the world to see.
“Aha!” Flayn exclaimed in a delighted voice. “I see you were making a pun! Light reading for a light spell! How clever!”
Claude chuckled softly. “Actually, that was unintentional, but I won’t turn down the praise.”
How does someone who doesn't believe in the Goddess perform a spell based on faith? With Flayn's help, it might just be possible.
