Summary
What is left between them after the conflict is over, after everything is said and done and they remain alive yet changed in a strange new place? As they walk miles and miles, alone yet together, and Jayce is still Jayce and Viktor is anything but himself? How can they move past what was, rebuild something new, become something more finally as the last of the walls and the canyons that kept them from the truth of what they are and what they mean to each other are broken down and crossed?
Viktor doesn't know, cannot know, only hope to find an answer as he tries to find himself.
Alternatively: a series of vignettes following Viktor and Jayce after they wake up in an alternate timeline where they travel an untamed land in search of civilization, explore their own relationship, and fall inexplicably back into a love they can finally admit was always there.

Without warning, a tight, iron grip clamped around his neck, yanking him violently back from the edge. His breath caught in his throat, choking as he clawed desperately at the hand, but it didn’t loosen, only tightened.
