    Summary

"You know what it's like to belong somewhere you're supposed to hate. You've loved people you're supposed to hate."

    ***

Rickon looked up. And Tommen realized he was crying. "Bran needs us, Jon. Someone's got to go. I can feel it."

"You're going to kill Theon." Jon's voice was a growl. "Rickon, you're going to kill Theon."

    ***

Maybe Jaime was going to lose his mind. But, fuck it, his tongue would go to the grave with him. Let them cut off his legs and his other hand.
"Your sister's lost so much more. And if she were here, she'd fucking punch you."

    ***

Jaime rolled his eyes. "The last thing we need is a dragon to worry about."

    ***

Two years after the end of the War of Five Kings, King Tyrion's reign prepares to face the last great war. The only important one. The war between the living and the dead.

Or: Jon, Tommen, Rickon, and most of the rest go fight the White Walkers (and there is a dragon). Jaime, Tyrion and Jolyon stay home. Sansa returns home and suffers. Robb and Arya do their worst.

    Summary

They survive the encounter with Lady Stoneheart, though not without cost. Jaime loses his sword, Podrick loses a tooth, Brienne loses the last of her naive belief that Catelyn was still somewhere reachable in that monstrous form, and Hyle—

    Hyle loses a hand.

Post-Stoneheart, Jaime, Brienne, Pod, and Hyle retreat to the Quiet Isle, and Jaime has to figure out where he's going next. It's not as simple of a decision as it should be.

    Summary

There had been a few – only a few – advantages to being a Kingsguard.  Jaime was reasonably well acquainted with the hidden ways into the Red Keep; knowledge of them was necessary for protection of the royal family.  Not that I was much good at it.  Three kings died on my watch, one at my hand, plus two heirs to the throne, and two princesses.  Were I still Lord Commander, I could record that in the White Book.

But he would not allow his second son, the bastard King, to be added to the tally.

    Summary

Brienne struggled into a robe and unbarred the door.  She kept her blade at the ready.  “You,” she said.

“You’re an impressive sight.”  His green eyes laughed at her.  “What are you doing with that sword?”

She raised it.  “I have nothing to say to you.”

“Yes, I can see that our marriage would have been one long feast of reason and flow of soul.”

    “Why are you here?”

He shouldered past her, disregarding her objections and her weapon, carrying a platter and a pitcher.  Over his shoulder she could see guards.  “Isn’t it regarded as a blessing to visit the mad?”

    Summary

Bran saw them spread before him like threads, they were all dead now, everyone he knew. Winter had come and the lone wolves had all died. Jojen’s rotting corpse lay at his feet. His eyes, now blind to light, searched a thousand-thousand memories, which ran like roots beneath the land. A light flashed, a single shooting star in the night. It glinted beneath the moon and landed on the island of Tarth. He saw it now, what would change their fates. He switched the places of Galladon and Brienne, just as the fae switch infants with changelings. Then everything went dark.
Perhaps a single change can make all the difference in the course of fate. What if Brienne of Tarth was born ten years earlier? Shamelessly fluffy rewrite where Jaime and Brienne go on Dunk and Egg side quests, have many bastard children and piss of Tywin at every turn. My first fic - please be kind xx *Will be updated weekly*
