Ren did not undestand the reason for him to be there in the first place.
It's not like they would start the renovations right at the moment. They just wanted to look at the old furniture to see what would be kept and what should be tossed in the trash, something Ren would be little helpful in doing given that he worked as a tattoo artist and knew close to nothing about woodworking.
And yet, here he was in all of his grumpy glory, tagging alongside his stupid brother despite all the protests and complains.
But maybe once he gets to met Dan Feng’s younger brother all those bitter fellings will turn into something far more sweet.

Summary
