Summary
Kendra never dared to ask her Watcher about what would happen when she died. She knew the important part -- a new girl would be Chosen, called by some higher power to defend the world from the vampires and the forces of darkness -- and that was supposed to be enough. It would have been selfish to wonder what would happen to her, personally. To act as though she were entitled to some kind of reward, simply for doing her duty. She didn't have to ask Mr Zabuto to know that.
Still, deep down, she'd hoped that the world would turn out to be kind. That when whatever was going to happen had happened, when she'd fought her last fight, she'd open her eyes somewhere better. Somewhere that didn't need a Slayer. Somewhere she could have a family, and have friends, and talk to boys, and study histories and manuscripts that had nothing at all to do with demons or the occult.
But the world isn't kind. That's why, after Kendra died, she found herself in Boston.

Summary
It’s easier than it should be to fall back into old rhythms. To pretend that -- after everything that happened, after months spent behind bars -- nothing important has changed. Because Faith's back in the world now: back in Sunnydale; a proper Slayer again. Fighting the good fight against vamps and demons every night, kicking ass and living large, just like she always knew she was meant to. Everything is back to the way it was always supposed to be. She did some real fucked up shit to all of them—Buffy most of all. It’s fresh for them but it isn’t for her. She hadn’t realized just how long it has been, not until she got sent back here. She didn’t actually notice how easy it’d gotten interacting with the scoobies, how connected Buffy and her are despite everything.

Summary
Three and a half years after closing the Hellmouth, Faith is doing good. She’s living in Cleveland, taking care of her dog, and showing a new Slayer the ropes. There’s just one tiny problem. Buffy moved back in five months ago. And now the feelings she’s been (semi) successfully tamping down for years have been dragged straight back to the surface.
Three and a half years after closing the Hellmouth, Buffy finally has a minute to breathe. She’s back in Cleveland, taking college classes during the day, taking turns guarding the Hellmouth at night, and even mentoring a new Slayer on the side. And then there’s the matter of Faith, who she just can’t seem to stop thinking about.
Or: Buffy and Faith are living together. Things between them are better than ever (even though historically the bar has been in hell). Just as things start to shift into something new and terrifying and unknowable, an ancient artifact is stolen, and an angry God comes calling...

Nobody ever planned on two of them, much less that they'd be at each other's throats. Or that those dreams might just get a little more complicated with two dreamers. Faith Lehane may be coma-bound, but that doesn't mean she and Buffy Summers are finished with each other. Far from it.
