And yet, some things stay the same anyway: Rebecca Wayne refuses to engage with her peers in favor of her crime-fighting alter ego (but maybe Rebecca Wayne is the alter ego): Edith Nashton has delusions of grandeur and desperately craves love and attention.

“It’s not right for magical girls to be alone,” the rat muttered. “The very nature of the position is designed to be collaborative, even if they can hold their own. Friendship is magic, literally.” An awful, awful idea started forming in Edith’s head, but the rat beat her to the punch.
