Summary
Guardians are resurrected with no memory of their past lives. To go searching for those memories is to invite only grief and pain. Yet for the famed Guardian, nameless except by her hard won accolades, her past lives find her. When the Prison of Elders breaks out in riots, what she learns there threatens to unravel all she thinks she knows about her place in the universe, but it could also give her a clarity of purpose she's never known before. Along the way she'll forge old relationships anew and learn just what it truly means to be a Guardian.
[Author's note - this is going to be a loose series of vignettes focusing on various points in the Guardian's journey, whether that's pining for lost loves or discussing the finer points of philosophies of Light and Darkness.]

Summary
Vampires living amongst humans? Common place.
Vampires ruling the Mafia scene? Of course, who else!
Mara Sov rules the Mafia world with a firm hand. As much as a threat as she poses, it's her shadow that poses the greatest threat. Her twin brother Uldren Sov - Crow - will do anything to keep the peace for his sister. His focus shifts when you come into the picture though. His devotion is no longer solely on his sister and the empire she rules over. A vampire prince with a new found obsession, but one he knows better than to indulge in.
Come what may, patience runs thin when you find yourself injured during a mission given by the Mafia Queen herself. Crow tasked with keeping you safe and unharmed, takes it upon himself to deal with the potential threat to your life. Returning to report to your boss, you find yourself being watched by her shadow. He's brooding and downright pissed that you got hurt. Why? You're just human, easily replaceable amongst the members of the family.
Why is he brooding?
What is he hiding from you?
Is there more to the vampire than he allows you to see?
What happens when he finds out just how hurt you actually got while under his care?
