I was the first.
The experiment that never made it past the prototype stage.
Unstable. Disposable. A name not worth remembering.They locked me away and moved on—created someone better. Someone who could carry the Aether Core without breaking. She was everything I was never given the chance to be: trained, adored, chosen. They built the future around her.
But the future didn’t survive.
She died during the final trial, and somehow… I didn’t. I woke up in the wreckage—alone, alive, and still broken. I don’t have the Core. I don’t have her strength. I don’t even have her face.
