    Death is a concept every being in the world is terrified of. For Yang, death comes not quicker than she expected, but more painful. She’s swarmed with memories, mostly good ones, but those somehow hurt worse than the others. Regret, guilt and pure anguish flood her as she falls, as she’s suddenly somewhere else, as she explores what she assumes to be the afterlife. Never getting to say what she had always wanted, confessed what she had always felt, sorrow for leaving everything she knew behind.

    She doesn’t mean to let it slip up in front of Ruby, but the whole reason she’s down here is for her sister to be up there. A hand on her knee, a calm voice, a simple reminder, and Yang’s scoffing wetly. A tackle. A hug. A breathy name uttered in her ear. Her remaining hand comes up to thread through dark hair, and Yang greets Weiss with an easy smile.
