If this had been the Boiling Isles, the raindrops would have already been sizzling through her clothes and burning her skin even quicker than a fire-breathing goat. This was the Human Realm, though. The rain here wasn’t boiling. Just cold.
She took another step forward, reaching for Raine’s hand. Her fingers slipped through empty air. She turned around. Raine was still standing in the doorway of the Noceda house, their eyes wide.
Or, Raine experiences Human Realm rain for the first time. The concept of standing in the rain is a little terrifying, at first.
