As a dead man walking, summer had always been that hope on the horizon he was working to.
Tony’s goal main goal for his recovery was simple– he wanted to manage his pain enough that he could drive back upstate to the cabin; he wanted to be able to walk from the porch to the lake; he wanted to have enough dexterity in his fingers to play with the water guns that Happy’d gotten Morgan last year; he wanted his skin to heal enough that he could sit in the sun while his daughter played in the water.
The summer he had wanted for her was going to become a reality.
Then Peter Parker was taken in London, and it all slipped away like a mirage.
