Eddie was on fire. Surely it was the flames of hell licking at the soles of his feet ready to drag him into damnation, and Eddie for once wanted to go willingly. Buck kissed like he did everything. 100% nothing less. Intense, impulsive. Eddie felt like he was breathing for the first time ever. Buck groaned, tried to push a little closer, but in the action knocked over their empties. It was a cold bucket of water that crashed over Eddie, and he yanked back from Buck breathing hard. Buck looked, well he looked like he was in another world, his eyes wide and pupils blown, and his lips swollen and slick with spit. Eddie’s spit.

“You okay?”
Buck freezes, heart jumping right up to his throat. He turns a little too quickly, nearly knocking him off balance before a hand shoots out, wrapping around his bicep to steady him. Buck blinks up at Eddie and all the fight bleeds out of him as he throws himself into Eddie’s arms.
“Oh god,” he wheezes as he chokes back a sob, “Eddie, I—I’m so sorry!”
He feels Eddie’s hands — strong, steady, and warm — wrap around him before he is unceremoniously shoved backwards. Buck feels all the air punch out of his lungs when his back hits the firetruck.
“Who the hell are you?”
Buck’s mouth falls open as he looks at Eddie. As he looks at the person that knows him better than anyone else in the world. The person that he loves with every fiber of his being. He looks at Eddie and realizes that Eddie has no idea who he is.

Liam inhaled deeply, trying to pinpoint what made this wolf feel so familiar. Beneath the usual foresty smell, there was something distinct—pine, sharp mint, and a faintly metallic undertone that made Liam’s stomach drop.
His voice lowered, shaky despite himself. “…Theo?”
The wolf blinked slowly, its gaze bored now, as though unimpressed with how long it took Liam to figure it out.
“What the hell are you doing on my doorstep?” Liam hissed, immediately glancing toward the staircase. Thankfully, his parents were upstairs, because this wasn’t exactly an easy situation to explain.

Summary
Helena did not know that Buck took care of him after he got shot. She certainly didn’t know that he stayed with Chris until he came home from the hospital. She didn’t know what a natural move it was for Buck to take over his lease because he already fit so nicely into his life. She wouldn’t always say anything, but when she did they were just little comments she could tell had some deeper resentment under them.
“Sounds like he helped with Chris a lot,” she said one morning over coffee.
“It wasn’t like a big deal or anything,” said Chris. Helena was looking at Eddie when she responded “mhm.”
It would be impossible to get her to understand, but he needed him here. In theory the choice to move had been easy. Not a choice at all – Chris, above all else. That was true. Buck didn’t just matter, though. He was entwined.

Thankfully, Chimney finds a video someone took of it and decides to terrorize Eddie with it in the middle of the night after Eddie's moved to El Paso.
