There’s two rules every hiker should follow when going up the mountain: wear sunscreen, and drink water.
Wilbur, the born and bred Utahn he is, failed to follow both of those. You would think that he would’ve remembered the routine by now with how often Phil takes him on hikes, but one he didn’t want to carry all that junk and two Phil woke him up at 3:00 in the morning.
The sunrise was worth it, casting the valley below in the beautiful oranges and purples of the day. It wasn’t cold; Utah’s dry heat is curbed by the lack of immense sun but never completely gone.
What he forgot to realize is that the sun rises quickly in summer. It also gets hot pretty quickly.

They’d been planning on escaping for months. Potions, food, supplies, anything they could find to help them get out of this hell hole. They were going to break out, finally leave, and Techno was finally going to find Philza again-

“That’s okay!” Finally, after years of progress, they’re getting somewhere! “I mean, it’s a longshot, but there’s a chance! Techno this is wonderful!”
