Summary
Over the past year, Mo Ran has been the most fervent fan of Yuheng, a character from a popular video game. He has memorized all the scenes where Yuheng appears, he listens to his voicelines before going to sleep, and has turned his bedroom into a shrine filled with merchandise from said character. It's not like him to do things by half, after all.
So when Yuheng in person moves to the apartment next door, Mo Ran knows that he has to have the man all for himself, no matter what it takes.
Meanwhile, Chu Wanning only wants to know why his young and attractive neighbor is so interested in his boring self, and how long that interest will last to prepare his heart for the disappointment.

Summary
Mo Ran owns a small but popular restaurant in Beijing. He has great co-workers, a semi-stable income now, his family is close-by, and he has a loving boyfriend of multiple years. There's only one issue with his situation - his boyfriend is thousands of kilometers away, working for the French branch of Xue Zhengyong's company all the way over in Paris.
The time difference just about kills them, and they won't even get to spend Valentine's Day (which doubles as their anniversary) together.
Mo Ran's co-workers aren't having it any longer, though, and they force Mo Ran to go and take a damned flight to see his damned boyfriend, even if it means doing overtime. Mo Ran doesn't get a choice.
(Chu Wanning has not a single clue what's happening on the other side of the world, until Mo Ran is in front of his door.) -
