    “How do you think he acted when he was convincing your mother’s family to give her to him?” Todoroki’s brow furrowed in confusion, and Ochako could tell he had never thought about it before. “I find it hard to believe that a parent would sell a child into a life of hardship unless there was no way to avoid it… and since you said that Endeavor paid to support her family’s ‘lifestyle,’ financial stability was part of the deal. On the surface, that comes off as a rather caring thing to do for your in-laws.”
    “Gods Ochako, is that really how you wanna play this?”
    Neither Katsuki or Todoroki had gotten where she was going yet so she grinned at Izuku, truly the smartest of them, and continued, “He had to have been on his best behavior to win them over- or else trying to propose a quirk marriage would have gone off the rails.”
    “The fuck are you talking about?!” Katsuki snapped, obviously irritated and on edge about this situation as a whole.
    “Endeavor can’t go to my parents to try to arrange a marriage like he did with his own wife.” She soothed, squeezing the tense, sweaty hand in her grasp. "He has to convince me that letting myself become your wife is my best option- and that means he has to impress me.”

    The multiverse is a paradoxical existence that doesn’t exist except for in the universe it does. Midoriya Izuku is a ‘centerpiece’. A person whose existence acts as a sturdy anchor for a good chunk of the multiverse. Hundreds of thousands of worlds base their changes and growth around this figurehead's name. In one of these universes, Midoriya may have become a regular Pro Hero. Maybe he gets a quirk. Maybe he ends up receiving one. Maybe he even becomes the villain he never wished to be.

    This is not one of those worlds.

     

    In fact, Midoriya in this world has a particular fondness for taking things apart and building them back together but better. He took one look at the world of Pro Heroes that's over glorified in the media and thought, ‘Who would help them? Who keeps them going?’

    This is the Universe where Midoriya takes one good look at society and decides, ‘Fuck it, I’ll help the heroes. If I need to change society to do it? So be it.’

    "You make me feel safe," Tommy whispered. "S'kinda confusing, I think. But I like it."

    Ranboo didn't know what to say. His heart melted, swelled and cracked and sank and soared all at once. Tommy was asleep in his arms within seconds, and Ranboo didn't have the chance to say anything.
