Arya bites her lip, considering. Loyalty pulls her in two directions. She feels a cold breeze at her neck, then creaky fingers resting on her shoulder.
“Daughter,” the Lady rasps and Arya’s heart trembles. It is the first time her mother displays any remembrance of her. The garbled word is enough to spark a fire in her, one bright enough to keep her warm.
“No,” Arya says to Thoros, looking over her shoulder. The Lady is ugly, unnatural, but Arya is not afraid of her. “I’m staying with my mother.”
