    Dying certainly felt peaceful. Of course I signed on for it but I thought, like everyone else, that I was invincible. I thought it couldn’t happen to me. But it did. And here I was.

    The Beast Titan’s bombardment sliced through my comrades like a hot knife cutting through butter. And Erwin… I watched Erwin get hit. I watched Marlowe get hit as well… All my friends were gone. There was nothing but silence surrounding me. Just the sound of my own thoughts.
