Summary
Molly Weasley always said the twins experiments would hurt someone. Perpaps noone died, but Harry was hurled back in time and spent about a year in the 1940s before being returned to the right time. Now, the present start to remember their new past, and have to come to terms with how time changes everything, and everyone.

Harry froze. This had to be a joke. Such an overreaction was unbelievable, even for Professor Snape. But that wasn't Snape's voice. Familiar and unfamiliar all the same. Curiously, Harry's head shot up.
Standing at the front of the room was a man, tall, dark eyes, handsome, and certainly not Professor Snape. It took a second for recognition to hit. Second year was four years ago now, but Harry could still easily recall the image of a young student once stuck in a diary. The man he saw now was older (Harry realized he could see just a tad of silver in his mostly dark locks), but clearly one and the same.
Tom Riddle.
Voldemort.

Riddle raised an eyebrow, Harry leant forward with pleading eyes. This was his favourite Professor, the one who had helped him when others had refused to, and the one who he thought he could trust with his life.
(Or, Harry asks Professor Riddle for help in killing Voldemort, Riddle is endlessly amused.)

Trelawney whispered a different prophecy. Because of it, Harry Potter was allowed to live.
He started his seventh year, the way he always had: as a half-blood Gryffindor, an orphan of Godric’s Hollow and the social leper of Hogwarts.
Two things told Harry it would be an interesting semester: first, the Dark Lord would visit Hogwarts; second, they had a new defense professor, who moved with precision and power and spoke as if he was used to people hanging onto his every word.
The man made Harry’s stomach squirm.
And he called himself Marvolo Gaunt.
