The red of Okarun’s eyes burned hot as they traced her face, canines slipping out from behind his lips. He hummed in response, eyes flickering to the side. And oh.
It was easy to forget, looking at him like this, but this Okarun was still her Okarun. With his big round glasses that blew up his eyes like a bug, and his curly hair that was getting longer by the day. His nervous fingers tapping lightly on her side, corners of his lips curving up in sheepishness.

When he looks in the mirror, he sees scars slashed across his mouth, neck, joints, and more: they stretch across his arms, legs, even down to his feet, each a testament to the twisting, unnatural growth forced upon him. He loathes the reflection before him, each scar a reminder of how Turbo Granny warped him in her brief, brutal possession. How can he come to terms with what has happened to him, how can he move past this and live?

Okarun closed his eyes and hummed, thinking very hard. “You’re teasing me,” he concluded.
“What? No way,” Momo bit back a grin, shuffling a bit to better face her friend.
His face scrunched, but his eyes were still closed. “You’re so mean, Momo.”
Her heart did a little skip at that. Okarun never called her Momo, except when he transformed. She was just startled, was all. When he said it so casually, dropping the curtain of pretenses and formality, it felt… special. It was like his own way of peering into her soul.
“A-anyways, let me see if I can fix this. I wanna go back to bed as soon as possible,” the psychic brushed it off, willing the heat in her cheeks to dissipate.
