She isn’t equipped to stand here and have ten thousand crazy thoughts just because the father of her child is on a cozy little date with someone else. “Get a grip, Hannah,” she mutters to herself as she turns to thread her way back through the bar.

Will's a true sorcerer. Right after the truth comes to light in the middle of a battlefield, Mike Wheeler finds himself more amazed and enamored with Will than he'd like to admit. However, they don't have time to celebrate the peace, because not much time passes that Vecna comes back, determined to take what Will loves the most if he isn't by his side on this war. So the Demogorgons come too, taking his mother with them and trying to take Mike too. But despite his mother is now theirs, right before Mike enters the Upside Down, Will jumps and goes with him.
So, they ended up together in the Upside Down. They only had to rescue Will's mother, wherever she happened to be. But they're alone, too, with a long journey ahead of them. Mike knows nothing can go wrong. Because surely nothing has changed between them, right?

He doesn’t think he’s ever felt this good, in his entire life, not even in the all-encompassing neon happiness of childhood. He thinks this is what it feels like to be free.
The deer lifts its head, turning and meeting Will’s gaze.Will is given a glimpse into what Vecna's goal for Hawkins is, and discovers that he's not all that against it after all. They both just want the town that ruined them gone.

He lets himself blink instead of flinching. “Robertson would be great. I know him back home. Anybody else from the rest of my team would be great, too. Except the local me. I don't see that going well.”
“You'd be right.” Robert allows, “I don't think Flambae even knows what the word ‘roommates’ means.”
In the corner, where he’d slouched against the wall after insisting on being part of the meeting, Flambae grumbles but does not refute it, and takes umbrage with his double’s phrasing instead. “Who says I'm the local you? Maybe you're just the corporate, sucks-shit me. The beta plan.”
Prototype Flambae ends up in post-canon for a day or two. Special thanks to sunnyfrenchfry on Tumblr for introducing me, this takes HEAVY inspiration from their snippets.
