He'd spent so long worrying about Theo being too much for Eddie to handle, the familiar type of worry that Buck livid with in himself daily… He hadn't prepared for how he'll feel when it's not a problem at all. Buck slides his phone out of his pocket, his hands shaking as he takes a photo of the sight. He never wanted to lose this moment.
Buck quickly tried to shove the tears that were beginning to fall down his cheeks away, as Eddie blinked awake.
The feeling almost does Buck under.
OR; Buck has his first shift back at work since taking Theo in his care. Eddie steps up to the 'challenge' to help the man he loves. And just like loving Buck, he finds it's not much of a challenge at all.

Summary
Eddie just has to look at Buck, and his stomach starts to flutter. His skin tingles every time Eddie’s fingers brush over his arms, and the words he’s desperately tried to push down rest on the tip of his tongue whenever they’re alone.
He keeps pushing them down, though.
He has to.
For his own sake.
Things have finally started to settle down for him. He’s back at work, comfortable with where he is in his recovery, and doing well for the first time in months. Buck knows that if he dwells on those thoughts for too long or tries to reason with any of it, he’ll only spiral. Buck can’t afford to let himself get attached to something he might have made up. It’ll only hurt him if it turns out Eddie’s only being cautious because of everything that happened.
