Summary
For reasons unknown to Grian, the strange wizard who he knows only by "Scar" has decided to revive him of all people, in an effort to steal an ancient artifact, the Enchanter, from an ancient ghost king. But why would he revive a (previously) human man with no memories except a looming sense of dread just over his shoulder? As he works with faeries, zombies, and other associates to gain back what Scar claims was stolen from his "people", Grian begins to uncover secrets that have been buried for a very long time, secrets that maybe should have stayed buried... and maybe he should have too.
This was originally inspired by a few songs and sprucewoodmpreg's roadtrip AU from... a very long time ago. It is something very different now.

Where Scott Smajor goes, light follows.
It follows him in the form of glowing streaks in his hair. No thicker than the width and length of his finger, they circle his head like rods around a blaze.
They don't seem to do anything, except glow faintly in the darkest of places. A purely cosmetic feature, the most dramatic thing they seem to do is show off his life counter, symbolizing in real time the amount of lives he has left. Occasionally, one might float in his peripheral vision and distract him in a heated moment, or give away his presence in a dark room, but other than that, he barely even notices they're there.
Most of the time, when he tries hard enough, he can even forget their purpose.
