Summary
One thing most people didn’t realize was that magic was unique to each mage. From their amount of it before reaching their limit to the colour, each mage was distinct from the last. The magic in the air was close and very familiar to his detectors. Ortho hesitantly followed the trail, wondering if he should be bothering her at this time. Maybe he didn’t want to be bothered? He should go. All those options slipped out of his mind when he saw her. The starsending robes looked really nice on Deuce. They complimented his hair and eyes perfectly, like she’d been the one to fly up there and pluck stars out of the sky to give them the blessing to adorn his hair and wrists like jewelry. Ortho didn’t know when he stopped thinking, only that suddenly Deuce had turned over her shoulder and was smiling… Smiling at him… Oh.
Ortho had succeeded in delivering the wishing stars above the clouds and into space, but when he returns, he finds himself veering off course and being drawn towards Deuce instead.
