"Can I ask another question though?" asked Tracy, the foreign student that Haebom adopted
"Sure, what is it?" Haebom said
"I'm just curious and you can totally not answer if it's too personal, I'd understand but I really want you to answer so sorry in advance" she said with her usual babble
"Got it" Haebom nodded with a smile
"Are you guys...exes by any chance?" she gestured between Haebom and Taesung, who was sitting on the other side of the table they all share
Their friends who was listening to the conversation fell silent when the question was asked.
Tracy can actually see the moment her question registered for the other people near them because it started to get quiet.
As if everyone, including their mothers, was waiting for this moment.
Haebom opened his mouth to answer but everyone heard a different voice.
"Yes, we are exes" Taesung, the Jo Teasung, who she never heard speak more than four words said, looking straight at Haebom
There was a beat of silence then everybody exploded.
