Lexi felt anxious at the thought of doing this again. Of comforting someone and floundering in her need to do something, to help in some way and inevitably making things worse but she quickly banished that thought as soon as it came, the only evidence of it ever existing being the lingering guilt in Lexis gut. He had just lost his baby brother and she was fucking worrying about herself.
She had asked to drive him home and he had nodded wearily, not looking her in the eyes. He hadn’t looked her in the eyes once since the trial began.
She ignored it.
He needed time. That much she knew about grief, people needed time, if not to heal then to at least build some version of themselves that could exist in the real world, that could exist without breaking. For Rue, the only way she could do that was through drugs. She wondered what his vice would be.
She wondered if it could be her.

Summary
It wasn’t unusual for Lexi to have the house all to herself, it wasn’t completely unusual for Lexi to hang with Fezco at her place, and it also wasn’t all that unusual for Lexi to smoke some weed with him, but it was unusual that all three things happened at once.
Lexi invites Fezco over, knowing she would be at the house alone. She might have overestimated how long they had before Cassie and Suze were back.
