Summary
"Enough talking, I'll let myself in."
"I've got a gun!" You remind him again, your voice sounds more panicked than you would like to admit. That monster took out a group of armed soldiers all by himself and then strung their bodies up like an offering. You know its hopeless, but it is human nature to try.
He wasn't kidding, he really kicked the door down. For a moment you watch as he leans down to enter your house, barely fitting in the doorway. It reminds you of a cat trying to squeeze through a tiny space to reach a hiding mouse. You manage to snap out of it, this is your only chance to end this nightmare. You raise the shotgun and take aim. The shot echoes through the walls, shrapnel flies everywhere as you watch him take a step back. The force of the blow made him unsteady on his feet. Then he faces you, grin wiped from his borrowed face.
"You shouldn't have done that."
Your heart leaps as you fire again, this time you caught him in the shoulder. He lets out an inhuman growl and runs at you. You aren't fast enough to evade him.
