    Inosuke snorted. “Not enough room here, stupid. That’s why I go to the studio.”

    “Ah, right...” Tanjirou let the thought drawl out, as if there was more for him to say. He could sense the ‘but’ sitting at the end of his tongue. “...but do you want to dance a little with me? To cheer you up.”

    He decided it would be best that he tried, that he’d give the Mer less to worry about, that he’d finally throw up the white flag and admit defeat against the Death that loomed over the great open sky. He’d most likely die anyway at this rate. He was still hungry, he was still weak.

    Fingers traced along his cheeks in a slow, tender motion.

    Inosuke’s green eyes snapped open within the water to find the blurry image of red and creamy skin, arms reaching up, hands touching him, wine–dark and cloudy–circling around what he assumed was Tanjirou’s face. He pulled his head out with a jerk and coughed back against the salt that filled his nostrils, burned the sensitive optics, and then the Siren rose from beneath the surface. His hair slicked back and pooled into the water beneath him and his scales glistened against the sunlight as the water tickled his collar.

    “...what were you doing?”

    “Are you doing anything tomorrow night?”

    Inosuke’s voice cut through his daydream and brought him right back into his dorm room, right back in his seat at his desk while Zenitsu studied beside him. His blood pressure spiked in an instant, at the implications of the question, the very idea of being able to see him again so soon, and he sputtered and tripped over his tongue before replying.

    “N-No, I...Well, I uh...I was p-probably gonna study, but who needs that?” Zenitsu turned his gaze at him sharply and he shifted in his seat to face away from him. “W-Why...?”

    “I have a game I want you to come watch. It’s my second one with this team.”

    Ah. Tanjirou wasn’t sure if he should feel disappointed or...curious. Maybe both.

    “You’re on a team?”

    “Ugh don’t start pissin’ me off too Daichi, I’ve had enough alright,” Inosuke groans dramatically. He hands his finished plate to Daichi and lays back on the bed, “Give me the damn medicine so I can go to sleep, I’m tired.”

    Oh.

    He didn’t get Daichi’s name wrong.

    Tanjirou scoffs loudly and curses himself in embarrassment when he sees everyone in the room look at him curiously. Crap, he meant to keep that to himself.

    In which another demon slayer catches feelings for Inosuke and listen Tanjirou is not jealous okay! Really he’s not, no matter what anyone says.
