Being forced to stay at Poe's house has been a nightmare for Mushitaro. He can't go two feet without a writing device is shoved into his line of sight, it's honestly maddening.
So why does he get so concerned when he wakes up one day to find not writing utensils at all?

Unbeknownst to herself, Akiko reaches out on autopilot to accept the candy packet. The smell of sugar takes her back again and this time, she lets herself relive it. The chequered tiles and soft music and the sense of belonging in a simple, vintage candy shop. Just for a little while.
Be kind, the butterfly candy whispers as she holds it with shaking fingers. Be as kind as can be.

Oh, so the entirety of the Third Division had gone and raided the base for bedding so that Kafka could present it to her like a cat dropping a dead mouse at her feet. Those idiots!
