The fingers that had been toying with his hair slipped down to cup his face, the slight scratch of those pointed nails familiar in a comforting way that he would have never anticipated.
“Vessel, do you wish to turn off once more?” Sukuna’s voice was soft, but it pierced through the emptiness of the room in such a way that Yuuji felt like it meant to encompass him whole, to drown him in the overwhelming waves of such a promise.

There was a beat of silence, long enough that Yuuji chanced to glance up toward the pile of bones on which Sukuna’s throne sat. He was staring, unexpectedly, in a way that Yuuji knew he should be wary of, but he just didn’t have the energy to even pull forth that emotion.
