"Need you." Ghost tells him.
"Oh love." Soap presses his forehead closer. "I'm so tired, I don't think I can."
"Don't need-" Ghost cuts off frustratedly, apparently struggling to explain. "Just need you closer. You're still too far-"
"Shhh." Soap soothes, presses his palm into Ghost chest. "You want me inside? as close as I can get?"
"Yes." Ghost nods straight away. "Please."

Summary
It takes Ghost until he’s halfway to his room to realise that Soap is weaving behind him, getting close and falling back, mad git is herding him in an effort to get back to the room faster.
“That’ll do.” He barks over his shoulder, and Soap slopes forward to walk beside him, ears drooped a little guiltily.
“Jus’ excited tae have ye back is all.” He yips happily, clearly not that apologetic about his herding, and why should he be? Ghost is known as a hard arse, but only his mutt knows that he’s probably the softest touch in the entire SAS.

Summary
Soap didn't expect much out of life. Born a peasant, always a peasant. Doomed from the start to serve someone else, he decides to do it in a way that won't bring him to an early grave, be it because of exertion or a weapon going through his tender heart.
He thinks he has everything sorted out, when he receives an offer from the castle to relocate there. Suddenly, the risk of ending with his head on a pike goes up drastically.
