It was still a weird concept. To think of the beautiful blue and black scales as actually real and attached to Adam and not just a costume. Langa liked the texture of them though, and he traced over some of the lines absently with a finger. The pair were hidden under the pier, late enough in the night that the beach was technically closed and no one was there. He hadn’t expected to bump into his friend under the pier but would freely admit that he was glad to find him lounging in the surf. He didn’t question if it had been intentional on Adam’s part.

"But they were! They were and now they're not. And without knowing how we got from this to that— It makes me uneasy."
"Is that why you tried to pick a fight with yourself?"
It's meant to be a joke, a tease, but the look Jayce levels him with wipes the small smirk right off Viktor's face.
"I don't like the way he looks at you." His voice is so deadly serious, Viktor feels the words more than hears them. "Like he knows you."
Maybe he does, Viktor thinks dangerously, failing to banish the image of time-petinaed eyes from his mind. After all, he was you once.
-or- Early in their partnership, Jayce and Viktor manage to break time and meet their future selves. Chaos ensues.

Summary
A muffled sob from the boy below tugs at Jayce’s heartstrings. He’s flexible, sure, but fuck, his heart isn’t made of elastic. Jayce bounces his knee a little bit higher. He knows that Viktor isn’t a baby anymore, but whatever, they’re both regressing right now. Viktor squirms in his arms, whimpering like he’s in the middle of having some sort of tantrum.
“Oh, sweetheart. Shh, sweet boy,” Jayce sing-songs in Viktor’s ear, hand patting at his lower back, leg rocking underneath him. Viktor’s fingers grab even tighter onto the collar of Jayce’s t-shirt.
A wet gasp, an unmistakable moan of pleasure. “Oh, f-fuck —”
~Or~
Jayce gets to the bottom of the reason why Viktor’s been acting like a complete terror around the house lately, then acts accordingly.

“If the Queen pays me for a hare’s head, I shall take it” he said, his voice tinged with cheerful, lighthearted laughter.
“It was not a hare.” came a voice from behind, calm and melodic, subtly accented. Jayce turned his head to see the person to whom the stoic voice belonged. The newcomer’s appearance matched the voice perfectly, dressed in elegant black and red robes, accented with gold and resting against a staff, with hooded eyes and high cheekbones pointing to at least partially elven heritage. He sat down beside the witcher and continued, looking at him with but a corner of his eye.
“That I can vouch for. But as to what this creature may be, that I know not.”
“Where does that certainty come from?”
“Because I’ve seen the wound.” he said, not losing the serene tone. “No hare has jaws that wide. Nor two rows of teeth…”
