Fanfic version of the tumblr post by sidsinning: "God AU where every year, the village chooses a sacrifice/bride to give to the god of fire to appease him, so he won’t destroy their land. Kagami is the chosen sacrifice but her family pays Marinette to be secretly offered in her place bc they look similar. Marinette’s family is poor, and she cares for her village, so she takes them up on their offer.
She successfully gets “sacrificed” and appears to her god…

Sin embargo, cuando vendió su alma para salvar la vida de su abuelo, no esperaba que el Charro Negro se la llevara a su finca con él en lugar de simplemente tomar su alma. No ayudaba a su caso, tampoco, el hecho de que no era el ser desalmado que describían las leyendas.

A soft rumble shakes Angel Dust back to consciousness, followed shortly by the sharp, warm aroma of something hot and freshly brewed. He shifts his head, feels rough wood against his cheek — wait, that’s not right. The hotel may not have the highest tier accommodations, but the pillows aren’t usually this rough. He took stock of the rest of his body, the ache between his shoulders, alongside the aching… everywhere else. But his shoulders, they’re tight and sore, and — actually his whole back is stiff from being folded over…
“You look like shit.”
Angel finally pries his eyes open. He doesn’t have to wait for them to focus to make out Husk’s looming form staring down at him from behind the bar. Angel’s 98% sure he’s got an apple box hidden behind there somewhere, just for moments like this, when he needs to loom. Angel’s lips part to deliver a witty retort, but his words are replaced by a series of soft whimpers and groans. Fuck.
