Briar’s bloodshot eyes snap to him. She moves again as though reaching for something and suddenly stands. In doing so, she tears the wires out of her veins in several places, leaving behind gaping wounds that make her wince. Briar stumbles, then hits the tile on her knees. The mask breaks away at that with a hiss of air and she sucks a struggling breath. Yet more wires free themselves from her, taking bits of flesh with them.
Jonny grimaces, having the good sense to step back. With her wild red hair hanging in wet strings around her face, she looks just that much wilder. “Easy, princess, you just woke up. Try not to bleed out just yet.”Or;
Self-indulgent AU where I think it would be fun if Jonny decided Briar Rose, a rageful prototype clone, should join his crew. Briar Rose now has to figure out what the hell is going on. Her prince may not have a sword, but he sure does carry a revolver. -

Summary
Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, or POTS, is a disorder in which on standing from a sitting or laying position, the heart cannot return enough blood to maintain blood pressure. This can cause a range of symptoms, none of which are good, and all of which Jonny tends to ignore.
Jumping up during an emergency to navigate a recently formed asteroid field certainly counts as getting up from a laying position.
