Canon-adjacent. I took some liberties by eliminating the 9th, adjusting their dorm timeline, and a few other changes. Also, disclaimer that, while obviously Stray Kids members are real people, my depictions of them are purely fictional. I’m using their real timeline and events as a backdrop for a fictional story and I’m in no way insinuating these things actually happened. (I mean, cute if they did, but this story is straight from my imagination.)

Summary
Jisung is good at three things: avoiding people, hooking up with strangers who don't expect anything, and pretending he doesn't want more.
Minho is good at everything—except understanding why he can't stop looking at the boy with the sad eyes and the scratched-up hands.
As their paths continue to cross, both boys cling to their excuses, using plausible deniability to protect their hearts from the terrifying reality of falling in love.
Or
Minho keeps denying his feelings, using curiosity and friendship to justify to himself how much he cares about Jisung. And Jisung is trying very hard not to fall for his new straight friend, hooking up and ghosting people in equal measure while he's at it.
